A 36V lithium battery can designed to last up to 5 - 20 years, or >6000 cycles (DOD 80% 0.2C) . However, the lifespan depends on how well the battery is maintained.

A 36 volt lithium battery can have 18, 20, or more cells, depending on the battery's type and configuration.

To "wake up" a 36v lithium battery that appears dead, connect it to a compatible charger for a short period, usually a few minutes, to give it a small initial charge and allow the battery management system (BMS) to activate, then continue charging normally;

To charge a 36V lithium battery, use a dedicated charger specifically designed for 36V lithium batteries; connect the charger to the battery's designated charging port, ensuring the voltage output of the charger matches the battery's rated voltage (typically around 42V for optimal charging), and let it charge until fully charged, monitoring the process to avoid overcharging;
